Large group games and outdoor activities

April 28th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Working effectively in a group, requires application. This is especially true when the group is a large one. Every additional person adds another layer of complexity to things, making interpersonal communication in the workplace all that more difficult. And when things begin to break down, it becomes much more difficult to fix them.

However, the occasional corporate away day can provide the answer to that particular problem. With proper planning, and the willingness of all involved, a properly organised corporate retreat will prove very helpful to its participants. At such a retreat, the away days from the office will be replete with equal measures of stress-busting relaxation activities, including many outdoor pursuits such as hiking or backpacking, and a plethora of teambuilding games.

Large group games are a form of the latter, geared specifically to – what else –large groups. Generally, this means somewhere between ten and twenty people. The games themselves are often in the form of trust-building exercises or teamwork exercises. In certain cases, they can also function as leadership exercises. Regardless, the large group games are quite similar to the smaller teambuilding games.

Most every adventure centre in the UK can hold large group games for the interested customer. Simply book a few days on an adventure course and tell the employees your needs and allow them to set things up from there! Don’t let the size of your group put you off from the rewarding experience of a corporate away day.
