Renting holiday villas in Minorca

June 30th, 2010 · No Comments

Minorca has long been high on the list of popular holiday destinations, with its guarantee of sun, vibrant night life and sandy beaches. In the past, staying at a hotel was the usual choice, but increasingly holidaymakers are opting to rent holiday villas, which offer many advantages.

Those fortunate enough not to have any money issues can relax luxuriously in a villa overlooking the sea, with its private beach and maybe even a yacht as part of the deal, but for an ordinary family renting a villa has its own considerable attractions. Not least is the space and flexibility afforded. The absence of set meal times and separate rooms for the kids considerably reduces the usual sources of conflict, and the self-catering aspect can be an adventure in itself, an opportunity to buy and cook the local produce and prepare picnics for the day. And of course you can stay out as long as you wish and have a long lie in next day. The kids can entertain themselves as noisily as they like and you won’t need to worry about other guests.

With the whole island being a European Biological Reserve, there’s plenty of wildlife to explore, and British, Spanish and French influences can be seen in the range of historic monuments. A distinctive and varied cuisine, colourful festivals and a very hospitable populace combine to offer everything you’d want from a holiday, and renting a villa on this unique island is the best way of taking advantage of it all, and at your own pace.
