Working at relationships through corporate days out

September 3rd, 2009 · 3 Comments

Since the 1990s, teambuilding has been a phrase that is often used in the corporate world, and coming up with new ideas to help colleagues to bond with each other remains popular now. The easiest definition of teambuilding is a team of people working together in order to achieve a common goal.

Due to the fact that individuals are very different in their personalities, behaviour and character, teambuilding games help improve the understanding of these differences while allowing people to work together harmoniously. This is why corporate away days are popular for helping to create a pleasant working environment in the office.

A popular teambuilding day consists of outdoor activities, with challenges ranging from adventure ropes to kayaking and camping. Adventure centres offer a range of outdoor pursuits to suit all abilities and purposes; specific teambuilding games are also available at selected activity centres across the UK – just perfect for a corporate away day.

A day out of the office can be invaluable as staff learn more about each other outside of a work environment. This detachment from the stresses of work can help to boost team morale and develop relationships within the team.

Having fun with work colleagues without worrying about deadlines or work pressures means that people’s true personalities shine through. The enduring popularity of teambuilding games after nearly 20 years suggests that the idea is successful and contributes to both a happy and harmonious workforce. So what are you waiting for? Get your colleagues booked in for some teambuilding games as soon as you can.

if you don’t like someone at work then they aren’t going to trust you holding a rope with them on the end

I’d let someone I hate hold me by the rope then when it’s his turn I’d let him drop a few foot, problems solved.
